Small Organisms for Piano

Small Organisms for Piano

Duration ~ 4:00

Program Notes:

Duration: ~4” for all three; 1 – 1 ½ minutes each

During my elementary piano education, most of the works I learned for recitals were either easy renditions of Baroque and Classical era, or pieces which were created more for the purpose of exercising my fingers than for their musical qualities. Compositionally, these are hardly groundbreaking, but I wanted to create works that enabled students to understand nuance –  to learn the difference between playing the notes and playing music. For Grade 1-2 piano students.
