Fugue for Strings

Fugue for Strings

Duration ~ 2:30

Program Notes:

Are fugues still relevant? Why would anybody want to play an imitation of a Baroque art form? This short fugue bends the model a bit by employing all four members of the string family instead of a traditional quartet. Utilizing 20thcentury harmonic language, it hardly sounds baroque.

Composed as an exercise, this short piece can fill an interlude or is great for Grade 4 string players.
